50 skilled volunteers from Adams Electric Cooperative and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association generously gave their time and talents to get the barn at our new farm ready for horses to move into this winter. Therapeutic Riding Program Featured on CBS Sunday Morning

At Shining Stars, we see the positive impact that therapeutic horsemanship programs have on our community every day. Shining Stars Breaks Ground on New Facility

On March 12, Shining Stars broke ground on our future home. We are building a 38,000 square foot facility on a 60-acre property that will allow us to host all our programs at one location, increase the number of people we serve, and continue growing for years to come. Shining Stars Receives New Minivan

Thanks to the generosity of Hanover Auto Team and DGI Creative, our mini horses and donkey have a new way of getting to schools, community centers, and senior centers. Watch Community Media’s coverage here and Fox 43’s coverage here.

On Sunday, July 27th, the Mason Dixon Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. presented Shining Stars with a generous $10,000 donation! Their continued support over the years has made an incredible impact on our mission, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment to our program. Shining Stars Welcomes Veterans Outreach of PA for a Day of Connection and Healing

We were honored to welcome 13 veterans and two staff members from the Veterans Outreach of PA (VOPA) for a special visit to Shining Stars on Friday, July 25th!

The day began with a presentation about our Veterans Program, followed by a picnic under the trees and an incredible Equine Connections Class (pictured).

VOPA is making a powerful impact by building a village of 15 tiny homes in Harrisburg, surrounding a community center dedicated to Veterans. Their mission is to combat homelessness among Veterans and provide the support needed to live a life of strength, purpose, and dignity.

Thank you, VOPA, for spending the day with us and for all you do for our nation’s heroes.

Shining Stars Hosted Summer Horse Camp 2025.

Campers of all abilities enjoyed hands-on experiences with our horses, including riding lessons, grooming, barn chores, and horse-themed crafts and games. The week was filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections as campers built confidence, made new friends, and developed their horsemanship skills in a safe and supportive environment. We’re grateful to our volunteers and staff who helped make the week such a success, and to the families who participated and supported the program.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for future camps!

Shining Stars Minis at Vacation Bible School

Shining Stars was invited to bring our minis to Gettysburg Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School on June 10. The theme for the week was Western. Thelma, Louise, and Mabel were a big hit with the children.

Shining Stars Hosted Gettysburg High School’s Equine Biology Class!

We were thrilled to host Gettysburg High School’s Equine Biology class for a hands on field trip this week! They learned about safety around horses, handling, and training basics, grooming, anatomy, conformation and how if effects movement and measuring vital signs.

Gettysburg Riding Club Benefit Show for Shining Stars!

On Saturday, May 3rd, the Gettysburg Riding Club hosted a successful Benefit Show in support of Shining Stars Therapeutic Riding Program. The event brought together riders, families, and supporters from the community for a day of equestrian competition and fun, all aimed at raising funds and awareness for Shining Stars’ mission!
